About Us

Carmel is originally from a farming family in Bunnoe and now lives in Tullyvin. She is married to Seamus and has two grown up children and two grandchildren.
Carmel works as a legal secretary and having worked in Cootehill for almost thirty five years, is well aware of the difficulties facing the people of the town and the surrounding areas in difficult economic times.
She has always been an active member of the community, holding positions on various committees in the local area including her local GAA club Kill Shamrocks, the Community Centre in Tullyvin village. She is continuously working with local Community groups and projects to seek funding to improve their facilities and without the injection of grant monies these projects and volunteering work by the local community groups would not get across the line and completed.
We all need to work together to improve the Communities where we all live and work.
Carmel was first elected to the Cavan County Council in 2014 and re-elected in 2019. She has held the position of Leas-Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, for 2017-18 and Chairperson of The Cootehill Municipal Area for 2016-17.
